I have something to say.....

.... although I don't know what it is yet. I'm hoping that, when something profound hits, I'll remember to post it.

Happy New Year, Charlie Brown.

I don't do New Years resolutions, because I'll undoubtably feel terrible when I break them. Instead I have life-goals that I want to complete within a specific time frame. I'm only going to share the 2 relevant ones today, but for anyone counting- I have a total of 5.

First one is to pay off all my credit card debt. I was one of those "target-demographic" youths that credit card companies love- they have booths at the freshman orientation on the Uni campus, and gave away all kinds of free stuff for applying. I've done pretty good in the paying off/ closing cards department, but sadly (or perhaps frighteningly!) I still have 12 to go. And for what it's worth- freshman year at Uni was back in 1996. So there's that one.

Second one is to get in shape and lose weight. I know, that's technically two, but my life-goals, my rules. I have gained somewhere in the area of 20 lbs in the past 6 mos. Now that is frightening. I blame my husband for this, albeit unfairly. He decided to become vegetarian, and I decided to try it with him, and I ended up substituting carbs like potatos for meat. Bad me. I was already heavy to begin with, but now it's ridiculous. I am posting my weight below in hopes that a good public humiliation will shame me into losing it faster.

I am dreading going back to work tomorrow, for no particular reason. I am mostly just bored. I think it is time to move on. We'll see what pops up on good ol' monster.com tonight. The new semester starts on Weds- 2 courses again, after taking last semester off. Goodbye, spare time.

I am currently: Pensive.
I am listening to: My neighbor's terrible music, heard through the walls.
I am looking forward to: Doing my taxes!
Word of the day: Amalgam
Credit cards left to be paid off: 12
Current weight: 158
Weight lost so far: None. (Sigh. Starting tomorrow!)

Hello... is this thing on?

Test 1-2-3!

(Anything but that)
