Attempting to blog - among other things...

It's been a very long time since I've bothered blogging. Life has been pretty interesting lately.

I'll try and sum up as quickly as possible and then in the future I'll try and make a point to blog regularly. Also, I plan to post all of these blogs both on my My Space Blog and on my person blog which is at www.webbpage.org.

Back in December I officially became the "domestic engineer" of the Webb household. I do the cooking, cleaning and everything which has been a very welcome change for me.

I'm really getting involved in Fantasy Baseball again this year. In fact, Clay and I are starting a fantasy baseball podcast for a new website that I think will be a really great fantasy tool called www.fantasybaseballmafia.com.

Sunset & 42nd
is back after a 3 month hiatus. If you already subscribe at iTunes, the new file should be waiting for you. If you don't - you can get it from the Sunset & 42nd My Space acct.

Michael Rupert is finishing up the pre-broadway run of LEGALLY BLONDE the musical in San Francisco this week and will have two weeks off before begin rehearsals for the Broadway run. Head over to his MySpace and give him a shout out. Michael and Will are also holding a new CD contest where you can win a copy of the new COMPANY cast recording as well as some other CDs. Check Michael's blog for details on how to enter.

I think that is about it for now - but I promise to start posting more frequently.

Motivations....

I'm trying to motivate and teach myself to get into a new routine. I've been a bit slow going on fully utilizing all of my time in the "housewife" role, but I'm slowly starting to getting in the groove and maximizing my potential around this apartment.

Baseball research is taking up a lot of my time lately. It's one thing that I am really good at. I get the game. I get the strategies of fantasy baseball and it's one of the few topics in the world that I feel like I can hold my own with anyone in a room. I don't consider myself a stupid person by any stretch of the imagination - but sometimes I feel like I know a little about a lot of things and very rarely feel comfortable diving into any specific topic of conversation for fear of looking stupid.

Last night I cooked a couple of Cornish game hens and roasted potatoes. It was pretty good although I experimented by putting the potatoes in the same roasting pan as the hens and they got a bit overcooked. Live and learn though.

I really need to get back in the exercise groove. I've become pretty lazy on that front since I've been home all day every day. I'm working on it.

I have been watching a lot of movies that I meant to see though. I have a huge list that I'll post now:

Feeling Blah/Movies/Podcast

I've been having some restless nights for a week now. I think I'm going through caffeine withdrawl since I decided to cut it out almost entirely.

I feel like crap today. It's likely a combination of the lack of sleep and this general sore throat icky thing that Anji and I both have. Hopefully it will go away this weekend.

I just got finished watching "Pulse" with Kristen Bell. It was alright. It was an interested concept that almost got lost as a result of trying to make it creepy, but anytime Wes Craven works on a script it's going to be better than what it would be if 99% of the remaining film industry is working on.

I'm about to watch "The Prestige" and see if I like it more than "The Illusionist" which I liked a lot.

The Fantasy Baseball Mafia: Wire Tap hosted by Clay and I will be premiering one week from today. I'll be sure to post a link.

Also, we released a new episode of Sunset & 42nd yesterday and you can get it from iTunes or stream it from our MySpace.

Tired

Yep - it's early for a Sunday morning. We decided to lie down for a second at 8:00 last night and we fell asleep. So....I woke up at approximately 4:00 am this morning with the living room light and television still on. Go me!

Today are the Oscars. I can't recall being so uninterested in an Oscar telecast. I'll probably watch bits and pieces, but I can't see investing my entire evening to it.

I'm about to go make some breakfast.

The Sore Throat That Won't Go Away

I've had a sore throat for going on a week now. It's irritating as hell. I can't seem to shake it. It's at it's worse right now - which figures because I have two podcasts to record tomorrow.

Like the obnoxious little girl in the orange juice commercial taught us - it will hurt if I swallow.

The last couple of days I've laid around and in general just rested up, though I do continue working on my baseball research. Today, I've decide to pay particularly close attention to a Baseball Prospectus stat called EqA. In short, the formula to get EqA is:

H + TB + 1.5*(BB+HPB) + SB / (AB + BB + HBP + CS+ SB/3)

It's hard work being a baseball geek. ;)

I probably should say something about the Oscars, but I don't really care that much. In short, I was pleased that The Departed won, thrilled that Marty finally won and was ecstatic that Alan Arkin won Best Support Actor.

I would have like to have seen Abigail Breslin win Best Supporting Actress, but alas, that might have caused the theatre community to explode. ;)

Okay - I'm off to clean the kitchen and then dive back into Fantasyland which is a fabulous baseball book.
